I founded a photography society, which won the Student’s Union award for Best New Society in 2015/16. As president my duties include: Chairing the committee and managing the aims of the society, negotiating photography contracts as well as sponsorship deals with both university societies and teams and external organisations such as The Royal Photographic Society, planning and marketing society activities such as competitions, building and maintaining the society website and maintaining our social media presence.

A TEAM MEMBER
Volunteering to help during fresher’s week and various University events throughout the year. This year I organised a team of ten volunteers to safely move 1000 people into residences over two days and worked closely with St Johns, the Welsh Ambulance Service and police to provide foot patrols and medical care for students at night during the first week.

RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSISTANT
Supporting the Department of Geography & Earth Sciences in their research of Soil Moisture using the Wales Soil Moisture Network (WSMN). I assisted in the testing of new remote sensing equipment, updated their website, researched possible research partners within wales, automating the pre-processing of collected data from the WSMN network and re wrote scientific papers in the style and format required by the publisher. I also carried out soil moisture field work in Lincoln alongside the Centre of Hydrology & Ecology (CEH). Where we used handheld equipment and an advanced robot to collect data to compare to the data from the Sentinel 1 satellite.

Responsible for facilitating the well-being of students residing in university accommodation through providing an on-call support service as well as planning programs and events. I also received professional training including: Counter Terrorism Prevent, Alcohol Brief Intervention from the NHS, Diversity & Equality, Professional Boundaries, Confidentiality, Report Writing, Lone Working and Risk Assessments.

Working in a multilingual and multicultural environment assisting the instructors. My main duty was to photograph the divers and wildlife for promotional material and selling prints/digital copies. My other role was to look after the divers and act as a secondary dive leader.
